ANNOUNCEMENT OF ANNUAL MEETING
On 6/11/12 SAM Senior Men’s Group will hold
our annual meeting at Tommy Nevins 1450 Sherman Ave. in Evanston. Lunch
will start at 12:30pm with the meeting to follow lunch. The restaurant
will not issue separate checks so please have cash. For those who can’t
make lunch the meeting should begin by 1:30pm. As you know we have spent
the past year forming a North Shore senior men’s group for men over 55
who are retired or semi-retired and who wish to participate in a
diversity of activities with similarly situated men. We are happy to
report that we now have almost 40 men participating in one or more of
our seven activity groups. In addition our members have been invited to
join in activities with the other groups in the north and northwest
suburbs.

* Report on General Membership
* Report on activity groups participation
* Joint activities with other suburban groups
* Seek ideas for new activity groups
* Nomination and Election of a Board of
Directors
* Set amount of annual dues
The time has come to develop a more formal
structure with a legal entity, officers or board and dues. To date any
expenses incurred have been paid for by individual members. Now that we
have sufficient membership there is no reason a few men should carry the
burden. We are slowly reaching the point of needing co-ordination of our
groups and leadership to work on marketing and membership expansion.
It is important that you attend this meeting
and provide your input and ideas. If you would be willing to serve on
the Board of Directors please let Rich Steele Nominations Chairman know

We are off to a great beginning but we need
the participation of each and every one of you to help our group grow
and provide the finest array of activities for our members.
